Patrick

Congratulations to my brother Patrick for graduating from Northwood University in Midland, Michigan this spring. I am very proud of him for kicking butt and finishing with a bang! (Mr. Smarty Pants made the Deans List his final term) He moved out to Colorado Memorial Day weekend and is already working for an auto group outside of Castle Rock. He sells aftermarket products to car buyers....so if you want to trick out your new car, or have a GPS system or sunroof installed, he is the person to see.

Generations

This is a picture of my Cousin Kate, Grandma Shirley, Kate's daughter Lauren, and Aunt Mary...four generations.... taken over Memorial Day Weekend in Colorado. Our family has a similar picture taken 30 years ago which includes my Great Grandmother Elsie, Grandma Shirley, Aunt Mary, and Cousin Lisa, when Lisa was born. (Lisa is Kate's older sister)What a cool tradition to be able to keep photographing!! When my daughter is born this fall, there will be FIVE generations on my mother's side of the family. I hope to capture a similar image.

Skipping Breakfast

Lilly has a new thing, she's been skipping her breakfast. She has maintained her normal morning routine otherwise... up around 6am, outside to use the bathroom, and then Matt feeds her. But instead of eating, she has been coming straight back to bed. Last weekend she didn't eat her breakfast until 1pm! This morning she skipped the meal again, and she never got around to eating it before I left for work. I hope she isn't starving by the time we get home from work today...and I hope she has learned her lesson.

Cubs Sweep the Sox

For the first time in Inter-League play, the Chicago Cubs swept the pitiful Chicago White Sox. It was a good weekend if you are a Chicago Cubs fan.

Go Cubs!

Chipped

A co-worker of mine lost her dog last week (it has since been found). She spent the entire day bawling her eyes out at work, and that was enough to convince me that we should have Lilly chipped. So I made an appointment with the vet and Lilly went in to have the chip implanted last week. We were able to register our information online after the appointment including her name, stats and a picture. If she is ever lost and then found by someone who has a chip scanner, almost all shelters and vets have scanners, she will be returned to us in no time. A little piece of mind! ps. the vet tech said that Lilly was a very good patient and didn't flinch an inch when the chip was implanted...good girl Lilly!

New Game

I am hoping that Matt will take me to Target soon to get a set of Mexican Train Dominoes. It is a super fun game for all ages that I first played on NYE 2006 (it was a family party) I recently played again while in Colorado for Grandma Shirley's 82nd birthday party, it was a blast! I can't wait to teach Matt how to play, it will be a great activity for weekday nights since there is nothing to watch on TV anyway.

Naughty Lilly

Although we love her so much, Lilly can occasionally get into some trouble. Lilly especially loves to cause trouble while I am in the shower...she must know that there is nothing that I can do to punish her at that time except yell from behind the curtain. She barks, runs around like crazy, and she has bathroom 'accidents' even though she has been housebroken for over a year. But THIS is her favorite naughty activity. I made her pose for these pictures because she looked especially proud of ther work that day!

Up and Running

So, I thought that I would give this blog thing a shot. I have several friends and family who stay in touch via their blogs and I love checking them periodically to see what's new in their lives. This is my attempt...let's see how it goes!
