Magazine Junkie

I was in the Dr's office waiting room the other day, and I picked up the current issue of Hallmark Magazine to help pass the time. I didn't know that they even had a magazine in circulation. Well, the few pages that I was able to read were fabulous. I think I might try out the free trial issues to see if I want to become a subscriber...who knew?

Lilly is ready too

Well, well, well....look who back to her old antics. Lilly has been very good lately, spending a lot of time close to me, lounging and loving. But today she was on the prowl while I was in the shower (a favorite pasttime of hers, see the previous post about toilet paper) I got out of the shower to find her desperatly tearing into a baby toy rattle, in the shape of a dog, no less....you're not supposed to eat your own kind Lilly! And then, when I was getting ready for work, I found her in the baby's cradle! It's currently on the guest bed until we need it in our room. (Please note, the cradle has a stand and it will not be on a bed or the floor.) How nice and thoughtful of her to test it out for us!

Beautiful!

Shortly after I arrived at work this morning, a bag was plopped down on my desk and this blanket was in it. Can you believe it? A gal at work commissioned her mother to crochet this for our baby. "My mother does a few things very well, and crocheting is one of them." (hehe) It is so cute and obviously made with love despite the fact we have never meet. Thank you!

In other news, I had a Dr appt this morning. All systems are go! She told me that she will not attempt to stop labor from progressing from this point forward. It's game time baby girl, come out and meet us!

Room is Ready!

We have been working hard getting ready for Baby "G" Here is a picture of the crib with the bedding, and another of the changing table. PS. Did we mention that she has a name now? We finally made a decision, yea!

Bachelor Weekend

Matt spent last weekend with the guys in Wisconson celebrating Craig's last months as a bachelor. Craig is getting married next May, but he really wanted to take advantage of the summertime for this particular party. Too bad it rained the majority of the weekend and they didn't get to do all of the boating, golfing and fun that they wanted to do. They were able to fit one round in at the famous Whistling Straights golf course before the weather turned on them.

Diaper Bag

Picking out a diaper bag should be a fun and exciting event, it's the best excuse to get another bag, which I have no problem with! However, it's more like torture. There are so many options out there to pick from, and I have no idea which direction I want to go. We currently have three different bags at home...two I bought with Matt, and the third was a gift from Matt for my birthday. And now I have my eye on this one...what is wrong with me? I have to see it person because handles, pockets, and material are all important factors when making a final decision.

My lovebug

My niece Lauren and I at the party this weekend. We are so happy together!

Showers in the Forecast

Well, It's been raining for two days straight! Not the best of weather, but a huge relief from the heat for me and my swollen ankles. Hopefully the relief lasts a few more days before it heats up again. I am grateful for all of the cool days that I can get!
I also had a baby shower this weekend. It was a lot of fun. Alison, Kate, Jorie and Sarah were wonderful hostesses and they spoiled me rotten. We had a small group of people at Kate's house for the celebration and I received so many wonderful things. Funny how a few items make me "feel ready" to bring this baby home now. Thank you to everyone for a fantastic day!

Elvis has left the building

And so has Perky Peggy Preggo... I am officially ready for this pregnant thing to be over, I am in the final countdown, put a fork in me I am done.

Last night I retired to the bedroom a little early because Matt was watching the Cubs for the 4th straight night in a row, and I needed a change of pace. Dr. 90210 was on E! Perfect! Well, after laying down to watch TV all night, (cause I can't sit in a comfortable position on the bed anymore) I got up to use the restroom before bed. And I had a MAJOR kink in by back...like when you sleep on your neck funny and you get shooting pains down your spinal cord...know what I mean? Anyway, I lost it, it was SOB CITY. My back hurting is not my only issue, I have a whole host of other problems too. I can't bend over, I can't put my pants on without looking like idiot, I can harldy shave my legs...the list goes on and on.

Here are a few things that I am looking forward to, and I hope they get me quickly through the next six weeks. An upcoming baby shower, fresh pedicure for the shower, classes & tour of the hospital, my birthday, getting the baby's room all set up, a scheduled ultrasound, our aniversary, book club meeting, Cub game with the Hunt's, a haircut and eyebrow wax, and of course HER ARRIVAL!

Nighttime

Matt declared to me today that he is investing in some earplugs because "allegedly" my snoring has gotten out of control. What? Me snore? I don't think so! Apparently he didn't sleep that well last night... not sure what the issue is, because Lilly and I each had a great night of sleep. We were rested and sunshine-y this morning. By the way Matt, hope you know that those earplugs will be going right out the window once Baby G is born. In fact, you should just use my snoring as preparation for what's to come!

Bjorn Ready

A great big thanks to our friends, Susan and Geoff Brown, for sending a Baby Bjorn! This was one item that Matt insisted that we register for...so we were pretty excited when it arrived in the mail yesterday. I had to test it out, and since we don't have a baby yet, well.... Lilly was the next best thing. A big shout out to her for being a great sport! She got a lot of praise and two treats when we were finished.

O-R-E-O

I have been SUPER into Oreo cookies lately. We are on our second package right now....and believe me when I tell you that Matt has been doing his fair share of eating them too! Anyways, there is a new Oreo 'Cakester' on the market these days. http://www.nabiscoworld.com/oreo/cakesters/

I am predicting a mix between Hostess cupcakes and Oreo cookies. I'll let you know....
