I'm happy to report that Anna's first tooth, the bottom left, broke through her gums yesterday! Wow, she is growing and changing so much baby is going to heading to college before I know it. (okay, maybe not that fast...but still)

Sitting Pretty

We purchased a high chair for Anna over the weekend. She seems to really enjoy being in it for could be the fact that she knows that food is coming. We introduced sweet peas yesterday and she didn't make one face, so I guess she really likes them. She has considerably warmed up to the carrots over the course of a few days too. Matt and I really enjoy food, so we will keep introducing Anna to a lot of different foods. We hope that we can avoid having a 'picky eater' in the future.

Anna has also been practicing sitting on her own. She often topples over and needs a lot of assistance, but she is getting better everyday. Here she is this morning.

Carrots? Yuck!

We have had a lot of success with the rice cereal the past two weeks. We started out making it very runny and have worked our way up to a thicker consistency. We thought that we would give carrots a try last night, it is her first taste of "real food" She made plenty of faces and even gagged a couple of times. It was hysterical! We will try the carrots again today, and hopefully they are received a little bit better. The doctor recommends introducing one new food a week, so Anna...sorry babe, but carrots are on the menu for a while.

Eating like a Rabbit

We were getting ready for dinner tonight and Anna was hanging out with us (on the counter top, in her Bumbo chair) Matt and I were in deep conversation, when we heard some crunching. Anna had grabbed the lettuce straight off the counter and had it in her mouth! She was so quick! Just another example of how curious she is getting about her surroundings and how everything is going into her mouth these days...a potentially dangerous combination!

Look Ma, No Hands

Mom, I told you I can hold it myself! Love, Anna

It has been awhile since Lilly has seen blog love, so I thought I would post an update about her. She has been getting along with Anna fantastically. She is constantly licking Anna (gross, I know) but she also is constantly checking on Anna making sure that she is okay. Aw, sisters. In the past Lilly stayed in her crate while Matt and I were at work, but she has been able to roam free now that Jessica is here taking care of Anna during the days. I gather that she is very happy about this and taking advantage of the situation, since she is completely exhausted by 7pm each night...see above picture. We couldn't be happier with our little dog. We love you Lilly!

Cousin Love

Our best picture
Lauren giving Anna a kiss
Lauren on the move, Anna laughing about the moms growing frustration.

My cousin Kate is in town from Denver for a bridal shower, so I jumped at the opportunity to take the day off work (imagine that) and join her for a day of bonding. We did nothing special, which was fine by us...we just ate a yummy 'picnic' lunch while the girls played on a blanket and talked about...well, stuff. It was fantastic fun. We tried to get a few shots of the girls together, but keeping those monkeys still is hard work. Above are our best efforts. Wow, look how much they have each grown since our last visit in October!

Digging in

Anna did a great job with her first meal of solid food yesterday. She got A LOT on her hands and her face, but I think by the end of the meal, (10 spoonfuls of runny rice cereal) she was starting to understand what she is supposed to be doing. She even opened the 'hanger' to let the 'airplane' in.

A good thing

I try to make good purchases. You know...cost effective, worthy items. I recently got a pair of red Old Navy first pair ever from there. Well, they are AWESOME. Since they only cost $3.50, or two pairs for $5, I could realistically get all the colors they offer! Sweet!

Bathing Beauty

Which one should she get? Yellow with tulips or pink with hearts? Vote to the right!
Update: Thank you for all of your votes. The yellow bathing suit won by a landslide!
