Pocket Surprise

Grandpa, what did you put in my pocket?
Hmmm, I think I can see it.
It's not coming out.
Got it! A cell phone, I LOVE cell phones! Thanks.

Lazy Weekend

Lilly's lazy bum on the can that be comfortable.

Anna's new party shoes. She loves them!
Mom...I can help with the cleaning!
We spent this weekend around town and around the house. Anna is recovering from a small cold, so we didn't venture out a lot. It was actually kind of nice to be at home. We were able to catch up on cleaning, repairs, groceries, and sleep. All of the not so fun things that have to be done...well, except for the sleep part!

Fall Trip

We enjoyed a very fun fall weekend in Peoria this weekend. We did a whole host of fall activities including a hot dog and smores dinner over an open fire pit flame...omg, it was so good. We were also able to go to the local orchard, Tanner's, to enjoy the petting zoo and pumpkin patch. Did I mention the huge pile of leaves? And we topped it all off with a great football game, we watched Anna's Uncle Nick play this afternoon.

New Dog Walker

We have a new official dog walker in the family...Anna! Not really, but she loves to hold the leash.

The birthday kids - Sarah 30, and Wes 29

We had a fun weekend and busy weekend. On Saturday we attempted as many errands in the morning as possible before heading to Watertower to meet Scott, Kim, and the kids for a great lunch at Foodlife. I've never been there before and it was very good and such an interesting place. After lunch we dropped Anna off with my mom because we were headed out for a night out on the town to celebrate Sarah's 30th birthday. The Oksay's drove up from Indy for the party, and we had a great time. It's not very often that we all get to hang out, esp without the kiddos! We had a super fun time at the party, thanks to Katherine and Duke for planning it! We stayed out until 2am! Today we woke up leisurely (thanks mom for keeping AB overnight) and headed out for a quick hamburger before Jason and Jorie went home. Today was a lazy day around the house consisting of recovery, cleaning, laundry, and a family nap. Ahhh.

Feeding Frenzy

So this chica is currently obsessed with utensils. She loves to have them in her hands, totally gets what they are used for, and has been practicing with them a lot lately. Total brag: isn't she just the smartest kid ever? I certainly think so!

Dear Nurse who gave me the worst flu shot ever,
I understand that the idea of giving 300 people at my work a flu shot isn't your idea of a fun Wednesday, but you should really think about warming up to that idea in a hurry. Flu shots are important! Also, can you please go back to "sticking school" and learn how to NOT puncture the veins in my arm. Thanks so much, LAG PS. Thank you for the charlie-horse.

Delinquent Blogger & Weekend

I am a bad bad blogger, and I'm sorry. I am not sure where the time went this past week, but it is gone. I don't have any new pictures at the moment, so I'll just bring you up to speed.
Matt left last Wednesday night for the longest bachelor party ever. I think the boys had a great time celebrating Kevin Harper's upcoming nuptials, because they came back exhausted and talking about all of the fun things they did. Golf, golf, cards, LCR, bars, UWisconson football game, and did I mention golf? So, Anna, Lilly and I were on our own from Wednesday until Sunday afternoon. Girls weekend! We headed out to my dad's house on Friday night. Saturday morning we left dad's early to go to Ikea and also to participate in a benefit walk in the Busse woods nature preserve. We went to Ikea because Matt and I are thinking about re-doing our bathroom and I wanted to look at their bathroom cabinetry. Dad was looking for new lighting because he just updated his kitchen. The benefit walk was for suicide prevention, and Dad and I walked to support neighbors who have been touched by suicide in their family. It was very interesting to see all of the people who were celebrating their loved one's life by wearing t-shirts adorned with pictures, dates, and stories. I must say it was a very celebratory day, and not the somber day that I was anticipating. The walk was interesting because we went by elk! Yes, that's right...elk! Because Busse woods is partly in Elk Grove Village, they have set up a nature preserve (think zoo) that includes elk. It was really cool to see them up close, they are huge! We wrapped up Saturday with a few errands and dinner at Ruby Tuesday's. They have awesome sliders. On Sunday Anna, Lilly, and I went to my mom's house to continue the girl's weekend theme. We were spoiled with food and rest and fun. Thanks mom! We tried to get out and do some shopping but the rain started just as we were finishing lunch. Bummer. So that was the weekend, and now our family is happily reunited!
