Money's Worth

Okay, so we are seriously getting our money's worth out of this new toy. It is awesome. She plays with it all of the time. Here we are the other night practicing her "walking" outside on the sidewalk.

10 Month Checkup

I Simpsonized Anna, and we aren't even into the Simpsons. I saw it on a friend's blog and thought it was cute.

Anyways, Anna had her 10 month check up today, and she is doing great! She is in the 90-95 % for height and 65% for weight. We are supposed to keep on doing what we are already doing. Great, that's easy enough!

Cool, I made a Wordle from our blog. Check it out!

What is a wordle?
Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.

Viva La Vida

Matt and I went to see Coldplay last night at the United Center. The concert was super cool, and we enjoyed a rare night out. They mostly played songs from the new album, Viva La Vida, which we have owned for a few weeks now. We were able to sing along and rock out to the semi-familiar tunes. (hum along in Matt's case... cause he doesn't know very many words to any song..even though he thinks he does :) ) They also videotaped a music video for "Lost!" They played the song twice in a row and the crowd was super pumped up, especially for the second playing...that was cool. I have to say that I really enjoyed it when they played "Yellow" which is their oldest hit, and not my favorite song. A pleasant surprise! Great show Coldplay, thanks for a fun night! (and thanks to my dad for staying home with Anna)

Noshing on Corn

Sunday was Anna's first experience with good ol' sweet corn. We were in Peoria for the weekend visiting with all the family down there, and what goes better with Peoria than corn? It was fresh picked from a nearby farm on Saturday, on our plates on Sunday, and it was so good! I figured that A.B. (our nickname for Anna Banana) would be able to eat it right up with her 7 teeth. She did great and loved it! YUM.

New Toy

Thanks Dad for building this super cool new toy for me. I love it! I can walk behind it, ride it, or pull it. (the steering wheel pulls out to become a handle) My favorite thing right now is practicing my steps. I'm not walking yet, but I will be in no time with all of this practice. (Mom and Dad are predicting by my first birthday.) Love, Anna

Dirty Mouth? Clean it Up!

She sure had fun playing in the dirt the other night. And boy... was she mad when it was time to clean up and head inside! I remember being a kid and wishing that the summer nights would never end. Don't you?

Perfect Consumers

We are, in the opinion of Netflix, the perfect consumers. We signed up for their movie service, enjoyed a handful of movies, and then stalled... while they continued to collect our monthly membership fee. Well Netflix, I have news for you; We are back on the bandwagon. Check out our updated movie list on the side column!

Laundry Queen

My child loves laundry. She loves to play with the piles of dirty clothes while I attempt to sort. She loves watching the machine go round and round...she watched it for 30 minutes last night! This is definitely my kid!

First Cubs Game!

We took Anna to her first Cubs game last night, and it was so much fun. We stayed for about an hour and a half before she melted, which I thought was pretty good considering it was way past her bedtime. I think she really enjoyed the sights and sounds of the ballpark and I hope we can take her back soon!

Anna has eczema... She started getting a rash on her face and chin area early last week, it is red and bumpy, yuck. I have been slathering Aquaphor all over it, (the cure-all ointment) but it just wasn't getting any better. I suspected it was eczema, so I called the Dr and asked to be seen in order to verify my un-scientific diagnosis... I was so happy with the pediatric office when they were able to fit us in to see the Dr on the same day I called. Cool, I hope that happens in the future when we have a more pressing illness! Anyways, we can continue to treat the eczema with Aquaphor, cortisone cream, and even give her Benadryl if she needs it. Our hope is to avoid a major outbreak by treating it several times a day by washing with mild soap, patting dry, and slathering it with the ointment. I have never experienced eczema and neither has Matt, so we don't know a lot about this... Anyone out there have any good advice?

We had a great trip to Omaha to celebrate Chris and Abby's marriage. I think a picture story is in order!

Matt and Anna: my faithful travel compainions!

Cousin love, plus Allie gets stiches in her foot and spends the weekend in a wheelchair!

Fun with dad and grandpa

I love to eat, hmmmm what should I order? Surf and Turf!

Congratulations Chris and Abby! We love you!

Miss Lindsay

I am so happy to report that Lindsay Kathleen Forebaugh finally arrived yesterday! She was born just after 12 noon and weighed in at 7lbs and 7oz. I stopped by the hospital this morning for a quick visit and she is beautiful! She has an entire head full of the softest black hair, which Amy's mom told me is just like Amy's when Amy was born. (now Amy has blond hair about my color!) I didn't get a chance to see her eyes, because she was so busy snoozing while I was there, so I hope to see those when she comes home in a few days.
Can I just tell you all that I have completely forgotten how small these kiddos are when they are born? It was amazing to hold Lindsay and try to think back to when Anna was born. I simply can't remember Anna being that size, and I wish that I could recall those days with more ease. I never felt that Anna was terribly fragile, but noticed feeling that way today while holding Lindsay. Maybe because she is not my kid? hhmmm... Even though Anna isn't that small anymore, we are still having tons of fun with her. She is interacting with us everyday and she makes me laugh all of the time. Watch out Lindsay have a BFF waiting downstairs for you to arrive home!
