I suggested she pour the bath water on her head tonight, and she did it! Such a good listener, my sweet girl.

New Trick

This is a new trick in our house, the pacifiers are supposed to stay in the bed when she is not sleeping. A little something we call "helpy, selfy"!

Dear Mom,
I really loved it when you came home tonight and your piggies were RED! Can I get that done to my piggies too? Love, Anna

Feed your Facebook

I know a lot of people who maintain a Facebook page and a blog. I came across this article from Blogger Buzz which walks you through setting up a feed from your blog to your Facebook page. So you do the work once, and it gets posted twice. Pretty cool if you ask me, and I don't even have a Facebook page. MAYBE it's time for me to rethink my status on Facebook?

Clean Plate

Anna continues to be a great eater, which we are thrilled about. She is open to trying news foods everyday of the week. Her favorites continue to be rice and pasta. As you can see above, she decided that she needed to lift the plate to her face to get every last grain of rice into her mouth. I suppose table manners are next on our "to-do" list.

The Usual Suspects

#1 #2

How do I say this delicately? We are so very proud of Anna for her first poopy in the potty yesterday, what a milestone! She is very 'regular' if you catch my drift. So I thought that I would take advantage of her regularity and I went out and bought a potty seat for her. She is still very young to think about toilet training seriously, so right now we are just having fun, and sitting and waiting.....and waiting and waiting. I never thought I would be so proud of sh*t. Howdy Ho Mr. Hanky!

We're having a heat wave, a tropical heat wave. Well, not really, but thank goodness the cold weather broke for a little bit this weekend. It is a really nice change from the sub-zero temps we have been experiencing recently. I got my haircut, which I've alerady posted about, and had lunch with my mom on Saturday. Matt and Anna bummed around the neighborhood enjoying the weather. Today, I had breakfast with the girls (Alison, Sarah, Carolyn, and Heather) and we took a really nice family walk this afternoon. We also stopped at the park for a little swing n slide action, which Anna really enjoyed.
However, I must say that the highlight of our weekend was church tonight. Matt and I have been very relaxed about attending church and we decided that we would like to get back into the routine of going weekly. Part of our reluctance of going recently has been Anna. She is a wiggle worm and she doesn't sit still...ever. So we packed a lot books and snacks this afternoon in hopes of distracting her all the way through mass. We also decided to attend the 5pm mass, since it has contemporary live music. Anna loves music and we thought it might be our best chance at staying the entire hour...get her interested in the music and we are home free, right? WRONG. We barely made it through the first reading before I had to take her to the back of the church. Once we got there I thought things would be better because she can walk around. Wrong again. Soon, she was throwing her pacifier (another distraction tool) on the floor in disgust, and talking very loudly. I thought I might pick her up to quiet her...well she started thrashing and yelling "down!" So I let her down and then she started CRAWLING across the floor. I was so embarrassed. Of course there were other children back there acting perfectly perfect, and the parents were just looking at me. The homily was forever long, and I couldn't get Matt's attention to let him know that we needed to get out of there as soon as possible. It was dreadful in so many ways. But, we aren't giving up. (Did you hear that Anna?) So, we will try again next week and if we make it to the second reading, I'll consider it a success. Amen.

This is not a joke, this conversation really happened. I present exhibit A.

Me: Do you like my haircut?
Matt: um...
Matt: Yeah, it's cute. Wow it's really short.
Matt: It sorta looks like a mushroom.
Me: um, thanks. (I think)

Holy Moly

We've been praying every night before dinner and Anna really enjoys it. She is often waiting with her hands in praying position. And she anticipates when we say "Amen" at the end. Our praying sister.

See Food

Anna is looking so grown up to me these days. She wore jeans for the first time in a very long time the other day. And besides having the cutest little bum in them, she looked OLD. Like she was this kid...all grown up...not my baby anymore. Oh wait, I guess that has been happening all along, the growing up thing. Bummer.

Groundhog Day

Shadow = 6 more weeks = not exactly what I was looking to hear = blah.

2 Trips - 1 week

We had a busy week due to Matt's travels last week. He started off in Puerto Rico for work..nice work trip huh?... It was a quick visit, but who cares, at least he wasn't here in cold snowy blowy Chicago! He was home for a quick 24 hours and then took off again for a guys trip in Phoenix over the weekend. He came back with a tan on Sunday night, so now I'm not talking to him. :) Anna, Lilly, and I enjoyed some quality girls time during the week and visited Crystal Lake over the weekend.
